Construction Services (Bulk Earthworks Henderson Waste Redevelopment)

⁠⁠⁠The City of Cockburn (the Principal) is seeking an experienced Construction Contractor for works associated with the bulk earthworks for the proposed Cockburn Community Recycling Centre, Rockingham Road, Wattleup.

The Contractor will be required to provide all labour, plant, tools and equipment, materials, chemicals, transportation/cartage, administrative costs, travelling expenses etc. and anything else necessary to comply with the requirements of the proposed Contract.

The works to be carried out under this Specification include, but are not limited, to the following:

• Locating and documenting underground services
• Bulk earthworks for the excavation of uncontrolled fill material to reach top of limestone
• Testing, sorting, classifying and temporary stockpiling of different classes of fill material within the Bulk Excavation Area including:

1. General waste
2. Asbestos containing material
3. Construction and demolition material
4. Filling sand

• Weighing and transport and placing of filling sand, general waste, asbestos containing material and construction and demolition material on site in final stockpile locations.
• Bulk excavation in limestone and rock and crushing and stockpiling of limestone.
• Placement and compaction of filling material to final design levels within the Bulk Excavation Area.
• The detailed design and construction of retaining walls.
• The installation and maintenance of all necessary traffic control in consultation with the City Landfill Representative.
• All environmental control measures including installation and maintenance of erosion control measures.

The Specification is to be read in the context it is written and will be the basis upon which the Contractor is to achieve an acceptable standard and level of service.

The proposed Contract shall be in force for a period of one (1) year from the date of contract award, with a Principal instigated option to extend up to twelve (12) months.

Contract is expected to commence in July 2022.

Mandatory Site Briefing:

Attendance at this meeting is mandatory.

Failure to attend this briefing will render the Tenderer ineligible to submit a Tender.

Tenderers are required to attend a Tender briefing on:

Thursday, 26th May 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00am (AWST).

The location of the meeting is at:

• Henderson Waste Recovery Park, 920 Rockingham Road, Wattleup

The briefing will provide Tenderers with the opportunity to clarify any uncertainties with the Principal prior to the closing of the Tender.
