Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Break O’Day Council is offering the following items for sale by tender:

  • 2 x former bridge steel truss structures – External dimensions 15200mm long x 5500mm wide, 2400mm high – Internal opening is 4850mm wide

Items will be sold on an as is where is basis and will be available for inspection at the Break O’Day Council Works Depot located at West Street, St Helens between the hours of 9am and 3pm, Monday 9 – Friday 20 May 2022.

Tenders must be submitted on a formal tender form and must be in accordance with the “Tender Terms and Conditions”. These documents are available on Council’s website, www.bodc.tas.gov.au or by phoning 6376 7900.

Tenders must be received no later than close of business on Tuesday 24 May 2022.

Items will be sold to the highest tender over the reserve price. Should the reserve not be reached the item will be removed from sale.

Tender Terms and Conditions

All tenders must be submitted on a formal tender form and be received no later than close of business on Tuesday 24 May 2022.
Tenders must be placed in a sealed envelope, marked confidential and delivered to:

  • Items will be available for inspection between the hours of 9am and 3pm, Monday 9 – Friday 20 May 2022.
  • Items are offered for sale “As is, where is” with all faults (if any).
  • No warranty is offered on any items.
  • Break O’Day Council will not be liable for any loss, damage costs or expense suffered or incurred by a purchaser arising out of purchase of an item.
  • Successful tenderers will be notified within 10 business days after close of tender. Unsuccessful tenderers will not be contacted.
  • Full payment must be received by Bank Cheque or Cash within 5 working days of notification of successful purchase. (Personal cheques will not be accepted).
  • Items will be available for pickup on receipt of full payment and must be removed from the premises by Thursday 23 June 2022 unless prior arrangements have been made with the Works Department.
  • The purchaser will contact Council’s Works Department, ph 6376 7900, to arrange a time for pickup within the following hours – Monday – Friday 9am – 3pm once full payment is made.
  • Cost and assistance for the removal of tender items is the responsibility of the purchaser. Council will not organise freight or delivery.
  • Should the purchaser fail to comply with any of the above conditions any money paid will be forfeited and all items uncleared may be resold.
  • The purchaser is responsible to ensure that any item purchased complies with the requirements of Workplace Health and Safety Acts before they are used in a workplace or for domestic use.
