The Maritime and Geospatial Systems (MGS) Section requires the services of two (2) Systems Integration Specialists to work on the Australian Maritime Identification System (AMIS), which is a suite of operational Command Support tools that integrates large volumes of near real-time maritime vessel tracks and geospatial data from departmental and commercial sources. These tools are critical for Australian Border Force (ABF) to detect, track and risk assess all maritime activities; and manage operational surveillance and response plans that involves a range of satellite, vessel and aircraft assets. AMIS is a 24/7 mission critical application supporting Maritime Domain Awareness for the Australian Border Force (ABF).

The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to:

* Designing integration solutions and documenting the design in accordance with best practices;
* Working with development teams to architect, design, build, and implement application integrations;
* Designing, building and implementing application monitoring and alerting capabilities;
* Developing and maintaining services used in application integrations;
* Defining and building IBM Integration Bus (IIB) or App-Connect (ACE) message flows and Application Programming Interfaces (API);
* Coordinating release and Continuous Integration/Deployment using Agile delivery practices;
* Developing and maintaining data integration components such as SQL queries, stored procedures, data extraction and cleansing, and integration with system front end components;
* Writing PL-SQL code to retrieve appropriate data as derived from requirements;
* Supporting development on resolving system defects, acting as liaison, and developing solutions;
* Coordinating directly with business users and business analyst to best understand and analyse business specifications;
* Providing technical assistance to troubleshoot and resolve integration and performance errors;
* Be part of the 24x7 support team. Providing out of hours support, including a requirement to be on call, on a rostered basis. This entails:
­> Specified Personnel to be available, and in the ‘required state of readiness’ to perform extra duty outside of standard business hours;
> The ‘required state of readiness’ includes the requirement for Specified Personnel to:
- Physically attend on site within 30 minutes of notification of requirement to attend or as directed by Director, Maritime & Geospatial Systems (MGS);
- Maintain compliance with the Department’s Professional Standards and Integrity Framework, which includes but is not limited to, ensuring Services are not performed whilst impaired by any legal or illegal drugs or alcohol.
­> Specified Personnel will be provided with a mobile telephone while on call;

Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensuring appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department’s recordkeeping policy and practices.

Specified Personnel will also be responsible for producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to:

* Functional design and interface specifications;
* Mediation flows that document business interface and technical design documentation and specifications;
* Capacity and forecast plans for integration platforms and database storage systems;
* Deployment plans;
* Technical handover documents.
