Tender Description

Working across the Australian ginger industry, the aim of the project is to increase adoption of best practice management and innovative R&D outcomes of the AgriFutures Ginger Program. The project will increase the awareness of AgriFutures Ginger Program investments and support adoption of beneficial innovations for the industry. The project will improve communication, cooperation and collaboration between growers, researchers and industry stakeholders.

The AgriFutures Ginger Program currently invests in the Ginger Extension Coordination Project which extends research and development outcomes and provides agronomic support to ginger growers. This project has provided significant benefits to the industry through effective engagement with ginger growers and other supply chain participants. This project is now due for completion. As such, AgriFutures Australia is currently seeking proposals from qualified individuals or organisations for the delivery of a program of extension services for the ginger industry.

The aim of this project is to provide:

  • a well-coordinated and effective industry extension program to improve the uptake of ginger best management practices and facilitate practice change.
  • provide support to growers to understand, adopt and adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Showcase success about game-changing R&D to demonstrate commercial benefits and drive adoption.

Submissions to the request for quote (RFQ) will need to clearly demonstrate a plan to connect and engage with ginger industry members, particularly growers, to deliver an effective extension program. Submissions will also need to demonstrate a plan for engagement with the AgriFutures Ginger Program and associated research project leads for the development of extension topics and materials.
