The Anzac Day Trust (Trust) is a body corporate under the Anzac Day Act 1960 (WA), and is administered by Defence West, a division of the Department of Jobs, Tourism Science and Innovation (JTSI).

The Trust is intending to procure the services of a suitably qualified supplier to deliver a pilot Support Dogs Program for Veterans and First Responders.

This support dogs’ program is intended to assist those veterans and first responders suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or impaired mobility in Western Australia. The supplier will be required to undertake the following:

• receipt applications from veterans and first responders and determine eligibility against outlined criteria;
• procure suitable dogs and undertake training;
• supply and match the trained dogs to eligible applicants;
• train matched dogs and applicants;
• undertake welfare checks post-handover;
• where required, assist the applicant to apply for upkeep costs under National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS); and
• assist State Government in raising general awareness for the program.
