Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠TasRail is currently seeking the services of experienced, qualified and competent Contractors with rail experience to tender for a package of drainage and wash away protection improvements on the Tasmanian Rail Network on the South Line between the KPS 113.59 through to the KPS 117.21 and Fingal Line between the KPF 46.61 through to the KPF 50.71.

Key Points of the Tender: .

  • The scope of work comprises:
  • Mobilisation and demobilisation from each site
  • Drain clearing and regrading
  • Embankment widening and installation of rip rap
  • Fabrication and installation of ballast retainers
  • Vegetation clearing
  • Embankment regrading
  • Provision of all Quality Documentations
  • The Scope of Works document also outlines the expectations and qualifications required of participating Contractors and describes the nature of works to be undertaken.
  • Contractors must have rail Safeworking resources to support their work.
  • The successful Contractor(s) must, where applicable, comply with the requirements of Rail Safety National Law (Tasmania) Act 2012, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and other relevant regulations.
  • On-site inspection: To be confirmed in the Request for Tender documentation.
 
Tenderers are to demonstrate in their submission their support of Tasmanian industry and businesses as required by the Tasmanian Government Buy Local Policy and comply with TasRail's Contractor Management System.

Works to be performed under this contract may be classed as rail safety work as prescribed by Ral Safety National Law (Tasmania) 2012 and as such employees and/or contractors performing such works must be able to meet and maintain the medical criteria for a safely-critical worker health assessment (category 1. 2 or 3) as prescribed by the National Standard for Health Assessment of Rail Safely Workers
