Tender Description
Snowy Valleys Council calls for expressions of interest to process and re-use fire damaged timber material (including trunks, branches, and chip) stockpiled (or to be stockpiled) at Batlow, Tumbarumba, and Talbingo.
Quotes must allow for reuse of all processed material. Acceptable reuses currently include firewood and compost, but others will be considered. Landfill is not an acceptable reuse.
Firewood must be removed from site and dried and seasoned before sale. Assurances in the form of a statutory declaration confirming that all firewood is appropriately dried and seasoned prior to on selling. Firewood must not be sold/distributed within Snowy Valleys Council region.
Responses must include details on proposed methodology, and approach to confirming quantities/weight of material processed and re-used. A docket/receipt paper trail will be required.
Prices are to be provided in the nominated template below, & will be specific to each location (Batlow, Tumbarumba, and Talbingo) and material type (Hardwood >200mm diameter, Timber >200mm diameter, and Piled Chip).

Scope:
Exact quantities of material to be processed will not be provided, as this hinges on ongoing arborist inspections, and approval of additional scopes of work.
The scope includes processing of timber material as follows:
Batlow Transfer Station
· Material currently stockpiled (available for inspection on request),
· Significant material yet to be deposited,
· Will include all material types.
Tumbarumba Transfer Station / Union Jack Depot
· Material currently stockpiled (available for inspection on request),
· Significant material yet to be deposited,
· Will include all material types.
Talbingo Transfer Station
· Material currently stockpiled (available for inspection on request),
· Minimal material yet to be deposited,
· Includes all material types.
Program:
The project will start as soon as possible and has a firm completion deadline of 15/09/2022.
Evaluation Criteria:
1. 50% Methodology
Proposed reuse,
Method for confirming weight of material being processed/carted/re-used,
Destination for material leaving Council transfer station/depot/stockpile site, & destination for reuse,
Site access and security,
Stockpile/depot site clean up and rehabilitation
2. 25% - Price
To be provided per location/material in the table below,
To include all associated costs (except GST),
EOI’s don’t have to include a price for every material type or location, but this is encouraged,
3. 25% Experience, Qualifications, Reputation, Capacity
Reuse capacity (higher capacity preferred),
Qualifications and certificates related to proposed reuse,
Experience delivering similar scopes of work in the region,
Registration and approval in Council's Vault system (accessible here),
