Tender Description
The following nine councils of the NSW Far North Coast region (Councils) are considering options to develop regional responses to collective waste challenges, including infrastructure to divert residual waste from landfill, to enhance recovery rates and to support the security and local opportunity of the recovered materials supply chain through to end markets:
• Ballina Shire Council
• Byron Shire Council
• Clarence Valley Council
• Coffs Harbour City Council
• Kempsey Shire Council
• Kyogle Council
• Lismore City Council
• Richmond Valley Council
• Tweed Shire Council
Councils are seeking interested parties to provide a waste processing facility and/or solutions in order to reduce the volumes of waste being sent for disposal to landfill. Councils are also willing to negotiate and enter into long term waste processing contracts with the successful proponent. Councils will not own the facility(s) and look to industry for operation and maintenance.
