2 x Enterprise Solutions Architects

⁠⁠⁠DESE is currently undergoing a significant Digital Transformation. Major projects and changing expectations mean that DESE must bring together connected services across Education, Skills and Employment to deliver the Digital Business Strategy. As part of this large program of work we are modernising and transforming our services in line with the DTA Digital transformation strategy to ensure they are user centric, modern, modular and support re-use.

To support this, we are building a design and architecture team who will support the significant delivery programs underway, whilst also designing the changes that are required to deliver the modern technology platforms and establish the architectural patterns and designs for the future. A critical element of this is creating and maintaining a suite of architecture artefacts that will be used to communicate our strategy, support decision making and guide delivery teams to adopt new technology that aligns to our Digital Business Strategy.

We are seeking candidates to provide solution design expertise for our large Skills program of work that comprises multiple systems and solutions to deliver a modern digital platform. The candidate will need to work closely with other architects and delivery teams to design the end-to-end solution that aligns to the investments the department have made in our eight strategic digital platforms.

The key activities the candidate will be involved in include:

- Understanding the customer requirements and business objectives and translating it to solution designs that align to the digital business strategy outcomes.
- Provide strategic advice on using approved cloud technologies to achieve goals
- Managing program initiatives and collaborating with technical staff and delivery teams.
- Assuring the design of systems and networks has the right architecture and functionality fit
- Supporting the implementation of new technology services
- Work closely with product owners and scrum teams to ensure the designs are delivered in an agile fashion

Criteria

- Proven experience as solution architect of secure modern technology platforms
- Experience with integrating various technologies, including cloud native technologies and the production of technical artefacts describing cloud patterns, principles, standards, policies, reference architectures and strategies covering cloud-based application services
- Experience in working across multiple projects with many interdependencies for delivery
- A team player with excellent communication and leading conversations with both executive and technical audiences
- Ensure scalability and build in future-proofing capabilities to cater for peak and regular demand patterns.
- Experience in building big data platforms and data architecture will be extremely advantagous.
- Certification in Azure and O365 solution architect or similar cloud certification will be advantageous
