Tender Description
The contract provides for the repair of flood damaged roads by competent licensed operators (the Plant Hire Contractor/s). The scope of work is defined by the approved defect schedule (Appendix 3). Tenderers should note that the exact scope of work is subject to change depending on weather conditions. There is no guaranteed minimum quantity of work under any of the work packages.
The work will involve extensive daily travel on unsealed roads within the Shire of Derby West Kimberley including travel to extremely remote areas within and surrounding the Shire. In general, the scope of works typically comprises:
- Minor clearing,
- Reconstruct road formation,
- Gravel sheeting,
- Maintenance grading,
- Reshape / form table drains and offshoot drains,
- Repairs and reconstruction of various floodways including concrete, cement stabilised, unsealed and sealed floodways including rock protection as required,
- Source gravel from borrow pits including clearing, topsoil stripping, removal of overburden, pushing up and stockpiling gravel and associated rehabilitation,
- Construction and maintenance of turkey's nests associated with nominated water bore sources, and
- Various works to obtain water from water bores, natural sources and any other source for road construction purposes.
The tenderer shall consider the Weed and Plant Pathogen Hygiene Procedure Kimberley Region Procedure when preparing their submission and conform to the procedure at all times during the works. A copy of this procedure can be found in Appendix 5. The Tenderer shall allow within their pricing to attend a briefing of the procedure, facilitated by the Shire and conducted by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, before commencement of works. The attendance of this briefing is compulsory and will incur no additional cost to the Principal.
