Tender Description
The Project
The North Coast Line (NCL) provides connectivity across Queensland’s entire narrow-gauge rail network running along the east coast from Brisbane to Cairns with junctions to the Tablelands, Mt Isa, the Central-West and the South-West. Due to excessive formation degradation, two sections of track have been identified as approaching the end of its useful life. To ensure the future reliability and safety of these corridors, this formation needs to be progressively renewed.
The proposed renewals are to take place at approximately·685.00km to 683.00km on the NCL between Yaamba and Glen Geddes and include the following activities:
- Formation improvements comprised of renewal of subgrade and capping layer; and
- New Grade A ballast and re-use of the existing sleepers and rails.

TENDER RELEASE
The RFT will be released Wednesday, 23 March 2022 and will aim to establish a Minor Works Contract with a suitably capable and experienced Contractor for the Works ensuring high quality work, achieved deadlines and value for money.
