Stallholder EOI - Starry Sari Night 2022
Tender ID: 488230
Tender Details
Tender Description
More than a Street Festival
After bringing an explosion of colour to the thoroughfares of Liverpool in 2014 and 2015, Starry Sari Night is returning to Liverpool City Council’s major events calendar.
Along the streets and surrounding laneways in the Liverpool CBD, this event will be among the biggest cultural events in New South Wales, transporting attendees to the vibrant streets that epitomise South Asia over three days.
The event will be anchored in George Street – warmly known as Sari Street in many cultural circles – which boasts one of the largest collections of Sari dressmakers in metropolitan Sydney. Like the stunning Saris in the shopfront windows, Liverpool’s rich cultural tapestry will be on display through cuisine, fashion, dance, music, art, and cultural workshops.
Local businesses will also line the streets evoking the bustle of a market bazaar, creating an experience that engages each of the five senses. Starry Sari Night will be the ultimate immersion into South Asian culture – a distinct entertainment experience, enhancing social and cultural interaction. Though heavily centred around South Asian culture, the event will be marketed broadly to communities in Greater Sydney and surrounds as a gateway to an intriguing and ever-evolving culture.
Starry Sari Night will be held from 5pm – 10pm on the below dates, in George Street & Surrounding Laneways, Liverpool CBD.
- Day 1: Friday 20 May 2022
- Day 2: Saturday 21 May 2022
