The Maritime and Geospatial Systems section brings together the Australian Maritime Identification System (AMIS), the Enterprise Geospatial Environment, Surveillance Information Management (SIM) system on the ABF Aviation platforms, numerous Maritime Situational Awareness applications for the Maritime Border Command (MBC) and the Geospatial applications on the ABF Maritime Fleet. The Section has responsibility for delivery of Data Visualisation applications for the Connected Information Environment via the Analyst Desktop platform, and the National Joint Common Operating Picture for Emergency Management Australia. This includes front-end User Interface development, platform support, as well as work to deliver data services from the Connected Information Environment and other data providers.

The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to:

- Managing and maintaining Northrop Grumman HCS\ICS Harbor and Coastal Surveillance/Integrated C41 Services (GCCS) Global Command and Control Services, vessel track management software and runtime environment;
- Supporting HCS Sun Solaris runtime environment;
- Supporting vessel data interfaces that use commercial and military data interchange formats;
- Developing and maintaining components to support high volume interfaces;
- Providing support for Data correlation and fusion components;
- Monitoring HCS/ICS (GCCS) components performance (CPU, RAM & IO);
- Performing HCS/ICS (GCCS) application tuning;
- Providing input into capacity planning regarding HCS\ICS (GCCS) resource utilisation;
- Designing, implementing and monitoring HCS\ICS (GCCS) maintenance schedules;
- Providing problem investigation support and rectification;
- Be part of a 24/7 support team. Providing out of hours support, including a requirement to be on call, on a rostered basis. This entails:
­ * Specified Personnel to be available, and in the ‘required state of readiness’ to perform extra duty outside of standard business hours;
­ * The ‘required state of readiness’ includes the requirement for Specified Personnel to:
- Physically attend on site within 30 minutes of notification of requirement to attend or as directed by Director, Maritime & Geospatial Systems (MGS);
- Maintain compliance with the Department’s Professional Standards and Integrity Framework, which includes but is not limited to, ensuring Services are not performed whilst impaired by any legal or illegal drugs or alcohol.
­ * Specified Personnel will be provided with a mobile telephone with on call.

Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department’s recordkeeping policy and practices.

The Specified Personnel will also be responsible for producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to:

- Project plans;
- Risk Management Plans;
- Acceptance Test Plans;
- Status updates and development effort estimates for changes;
- Produce new and update existing technical documentation.
