ARIC Committee Nominations 2022

⁠⁠⁠ Edward River Council is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for an external independent representative to join the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee, which assists in promoting good governance practices within the organisation.

The committee, which was established in February 2018, is comprised of two Councillors and three external representatives who strive for continuous improvement and business excellence across the organisation.

The Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee plays a critical role in ensuring good governance by frequently reviewing Council’s policies, practices and systems, and by utilising independent advice on governance processes from its external representatives.

Council is currently seeking EOI to identify a suitable external representative to join the established committee and representatives who can provide excellent financial and risk management skills, as well as strong business insights, are encourage to apply.

The EOI process will be overseen by a selection panel who will assess the applications and interview prospective committee members, before making a recommendation to Council on who should be appointed.

The committee meets at least four times a year and regularly reports back to Council on its program of work as well as its findings and recommendations.
