Terminal tractors (TUGS)

⁠⁠⁠KiwiRail seeks a single supplier delivering terminal tractors (tugs) to tow heavy semi-trailers (up to 65 tonnes operational Gross Vehicle Mass - GVM), supporting our ferry operations and container terminal divisions. Our current fleet consists of 32 terminal tractors, and we intend to expand our fleet with additional tractors to increase capacity.

This scope is for the Procurement of heavy vehicle tugs with single rear axle (4x2) and double rear axles (6x4). The terminal tractors must comply with New Zealand heavy road vehicle design, construction and safety requirements as defined in New Zealand legislation. The scope of supply of new tractor units needs to include the safe carriage of cargo through reliable, proven terminal tractor units as well as additional requirements in the attached specification.
