Business Solutions and Technology (BS&T) are responsible for all software related business analysis, business solutions, software development, telephony, IT services and infrastructure. We deliver business as usual activities and innovation driven initiatives that provide efficiencies to the broader organisation. As a Technology Refresh Program Project Manager, you will report to the Director, Technology Refresh Program. You will be based at DHA’s Canberra office located in 35 Hinder Street, Gungahlin ACT.

DHA is undertaking a significant Technology Refresh program with a focus on ensuring fit for purpose technology across all business areas. In this role, you will apply your extensive experience in business transformation, software implementation and stakeholder engagement to deliver these initiatives including Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Knowledge Management and Contact Centre Management software and processes. You will also work collaboratively with other Project Managers and software vendors to help build an integrated, corporate-wide hybrid ERP solution.

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will take a leading role in managing issues and providing strategic advice relating specifically to key projects, enabling technical capabilities to be leveraged and scaled as the business evolves. You will communicate effectively and negotiate with stakeholders to agree on scope boundaries, schedules, quality and budgets. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing project documentation, report on progress, oversee procurements, manage contracts and manage budgets as they relate to project delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to bring the team and business stakeholders on the transformation journey. Your broad experience managing various business transformation and software implementation projects will be complimented by your ability to collaborate and problem-solve. In addition, you will be able to identify and manage risks in change management and implementation.

Main duties

• Operates under general direction to lead software implementation projects as part of the Technology Refresh Program and ensure early viability of critical path issues. Duties include overseeing testing activities and quality assurance processes to ensure business requirements are being met.

• Proactively manage the engagement, representation and involvement of all relevant DHA internal stakeholders, to ensure Refresh initiatives and project implementation plans meet customer needs. This includes the refinement of business and technical requirements for Request for Tender (RFT) and Statement of Works (SOW) documentation and training.

• Project management accountability for all aspects of the project including continuous monitoring and reporting on all project deliverables, ensuring project objectives are met, project risks are identified and mitigated and demonstrating return on investment.

• Manage and oversee all aspects of the project budgets and resources and promote a project team environment and culture to maximise efficiency and effectiveness focused on project deliverables.

• Determine strategic direction for the work area and set priorities to ensure quality of outputs. Lead staff directly involved in establishing business line improvement to deliver optimum productivity and efficiency.

• Actively manage the project’s software and system integrator contracts, including monitoring performance against KPIs and SLAs.

Please note that the Technology Refresh team is largely working onsite for the foreseeable future, unless instructed to work from home due to COVID-19 by our internal WHS & Governance Teams. A condition of engagement is that proposed personnel have the required resources to work remotely. Additional expenses incurred by Supplier-proposed personnel will not be accepted by Defence Housing Australia.
