Tender Description
The National Trust is seeking tenders from suitably qualified consultants to prepare a business case for its private land covenanting and stewardship program.
One of only three covenanting programs in Western Australia, the National Trust’s program commenced in 1971 and is unique in providing stewardship advice in conjunction with the protective covenant.
The program currently administers 179 covenants – distributed across the Swan, Southwest, Midwest, Wheatbelt and South Coast Regions from east of Geraldton, across to the eastern Wheatbelt and down to the west of Esperance – registered over private land protecting more than 18, 000 hectares of native vegetation and natural areas.
The project goal is to provide a business plan which will help deliver an improved service and find ways for the National Trust’s Covenant Program to operate in a self-sustaining way. The ambition is to increase partnerships with relevant organisations, support involvement of Aboriginal ranger programs including opportunities for training and mentoring, provide greater support for covenantors and promote the value of the program.
