Tender Description

The following summary indicates the general nature of the Works for which the Principal desires tenders to be submitted and is issued to enable Contractors to make an assessment whether the Specification documents should be obtained from the Principal for the purpose of submitting a tender response. It does not form part of the Specification and should not be included as part of the Tenderer's offer.

PURPOSE OF WORK

The works required under this contract covers the Valve Maintenance and Mechanical Services at Vales Point Power Station for a period of two (2) years.

The Principal has an obligation that its Contractors must undertake continuous improvement leading to efficiencies that may be reflected in a Contract extension. Upon successful Practical Completion of the works within this agreement and a review of the Contractor’s performance, a further agreement may be negotiated, at the discretion of the Principal.

LOCATION OF SITE

The Vales Point Power Station is located on the southern shore of Lake Macquarie, approximately 130 km north of Sydney, New South Wales, and approximately 3 km off the Pacific Highway North of Doyalson.

EXTENT OF WORK

This Contract consists of six (6) Portions and seven (7) Optional Portions. The Optional Portions are designed to facilitate the continuation of valve maintenance services for an additional two (2) years (2024-2026). The Portion details are as follows:

(a) Portion 1 – Day to Day Valve Maintenance Outside of Unit Outages 2022-2024 (Lump Sum)

(b) Portion 2 – Emergency Labour Provision Outside of Unit Outages 2022-2024 (SOR)

(d) Portion 4 – Unit 5 Major Outage Works August 2022 (SOR)

(e) Portion 5 – Unit 6 Minor Outage Works April 2023 (SOR)

(f) Portion 6 – Unit 6 Minor Outage Works April 2024 (SOR)

(g) Optional Portion 7 – Day to Day Valve Maintenance Outside of Unit Outages 2024-2026 (Lump Sum)

(h) Optional Portion 8 – Emergency Labour Provision Outside of Unit Outages 2024-2026 (SOR)

(i) Optional Portion 9 – Mechanical Services, Offsite Machining/Onsite Specialist Machining 2024-2026 (SOR)

(j) Optional Portion 10 – Unit 5 Minor Outage Works August 2024 (SOR)

(k) Optional Portion 11 – Unit 6 Major Outage Works April 2025 (SOR)

INSPECTION OF SITE

All Tenderers must attend a mandatory virtual Pre-tender meeting to be conducted at 1.00pm on the 20th January 2022 via TEAMS. Companies who do not attend the mandatory virtual Pre-tender meeting will not be eligible to submit a Tender.

Visitors to the Site must provide and wear their own safety hats, safety footwear, protective safety eyewear (clear glasses), long sleeved shirts (hi-vis) and long trousers or combination overalls (hi-vis).

It is expected that all companies have downloaded and reviewed all documents pertaining to the works prior to the virtual site inspection.

Tenderers wishing to attend the mandatory virtual pre-tender site inspection must contact the request manager at least 24 hours prior to the meeting to register their intention to attend
