Tender Description
Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) is seeking to engage a suitably experienced supplier to work on the development and execution of a culvert degradation study.
The study aims to assess the existing degradation of corrugated steel pipe (CSP) culverts on the RTIO rail network and identify the optimum intervention timing and type [intervention may include replacement, re-lining, extension of life (CP or otherwise), or other method].
The study will be delivered over 2 stages as follows (This EOI will be used to assess vendors for both stages):
Scoping study
This phase aims to develop the scope of works for the culvert degradation study which will be delivered in the subsequent phase. The developed scope of works may include a site testing campaign, desktop analysis, additional inclusions to RTIO's existing level 2 inspections etc.
Execution of culvert degradation study as defined/developed by the scoping study
This phase comprises the execution of the degradation study including any analysis, site testing or inspections as defined / scoped in the scoping study. The results of the study will aim to address the optimum intervention type and timing for RTIO's CSP culverts. The exact scope and timing for this phase is contingent on the results of the scoping study.
