Under the Sydney Water operating license and agreements with NSW Health, Sydney Water is required to monitor its water quality for the detection of certain disease-causing bacteria and parasites such as

1.total coliforms
2.Escherichia coli
3.Cryptosporidium and
4.Giardia

Additionally, Sydney Water’s Laboratory Services also use these products when conducting routine and ad-hoc operational monitoring i.e. chlorination of new mains, customer complaints and ad-hoc projects.

This tender is for the supply of water testing kits as detailed below:

•test kits for detection and quantification of E. coli and total coliform bacteria in various water matrices
•products used for Cryptosporidium and Giardia testing by Immunomagnetic separation technique
•items required for automated field sampling and testing Cryptosporidium and Giardia.

Tenderer must supply the products on a Standing Order or “as required” basis as ordered with a guaranteed delivery service to sites within Sydney Water’s operating area and within agreed time parameters.
