Tender Description

The majority of Council's town water supply comes from the Cloncurry River by way of "Main Well" and "Well No. 5" situated on the eastern side of the river. The balance is supplied from the nearby Chinaman Creek Dam and a small amount from Lake Julius, (via the Ernest Henry Mine pipeline).

Following the March 2018 Flood Event, significant damage was caused to the well chamber and pumping mechanism of the 'Main River Well'. As a result, Council has had to install a temporary floating pump in the Cloncurry River, as well as relying on water from the nearby Dam and Lake Julius (approx. 100km pipeline).
Investigations have determined that the installation of new, large diameter, production bores would afford the best opportunity to address the issues.

Council requests that a tender be provided for the construction of bore water collector network. The scope of works for all civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural items under this contract (included for this collector network) are described in more detail in Part 5 - Scope of Works.
