Tender Description
The following summary indicates the general nature of the Works for which The Principal desires Tenders to be submitted and is issued to enable Contractors to make an assessment whether the Specification documents should be obtained from The Principal for the purpose of submitting a tender response. It does not form part of the Specification and should not be included as part of the Tenderer's offer.
PURPOSE OF WORK
The works required under this contract will cover the design, supply and installation of a new Coal Sampler at Vales Point Power Station. An Optional Portion also covers the decommissioning and removal of the old coal sampler which is intended to be used if the new sampler is proposed to be installed in the same location.
Another Optional Portion covers the provision and installation of an online coal sampler which is intended to be installed, if found economically viable, in addition to the new Coal Sampler.
A breakdown of the Portions is as follows:
Portion 1 – Design, Manufacture & Supply of Coal Sampler.
The Contractor must design, manufacture and supply one (1) coal sampler.
Note: The design, manufacture and supply Portion must be priced separately to allow the Principal to make an assessment on its viability when compared to Portion 4. The Principal will discuss this during the tendering phase with prospective tenderers.
Portion 2 – Installation & Commissioning of Coal Sampler
The Contractor must install one (1) coal sampler as provided under Portion 1 of the Technical Specification.
Note: The installation portion must be priced separately to allow the Principal to make an assessment on its viability. The Principal will discuss this during the tendering phase with prospective tenderers.
Optional Portion 3 – Decommissioning, Removal and Disposal of Existing YE2 Sampler
The Contractor must decommission, remove and dispose of the existing YE2 coal sampler.
Note: The decommissioning Portion must be priced separately as decommissioning of the existing sampler may not be required, depending on the location of the new sampler. The Principal will discuss this during the tendering phase with prospective tenderers.
Portion 4 – Design, Manufacture, Supply & Installation of Coal Sampler with real time testing of coal samples.
The Contractor must design, manufacture, supply and install one (1) coal sampler.
Note: Tenderers may provide a price for the design, manufacture, supply and installation of a coal sampler, which has the capability of real time testing of coal samples. This Portion is priced separately as an option to let the Principal to make an assessment on its viability, when compared with Portions 1 and 2.
LOCATION OF SITE
The Vales Point Power Station is located on the southern shore of Lake Macquarie, approximately 130 km north of Sydney, New South Wales, and approximately 3 km off the Pacific Highway North of Doyalson.
INSPECTION OF SITE
All Tenderers must attend a mandatory Pretender meeting to be conducted at 10:00am on Tuesday the 11th January 2022 at Vales Point Power Station. Companies who do not attend the mandatory Pretender meeting will not be eligible to submit a Tender.
Visitors to the Site must provide and wear their own safety hats, safety footwear, protective safety eyewear (clear glasses), long sleeved shirts (hi-vis) and long trousers or combination overalls (hi-vis).
At this common 'On Site' meeting, all Tenderers shall be taken on an inspection of the Site in order for them to make themselves familiar with the conditions thereon and the rules and procedures applying to the Site.
It is expected that all companies have downloaded and reviewed all documents pertaining to the works prior to the site inspection.
Proof of identity will be required prior to entry.

By using the Objective Connect workspace for drawings you agree to Delta Electricity’s Intellectual Property Rights which means Delta Electricity shall own all intellectual property, including technical information, know-how, copyrights, models, drawings, specifications, manuals, reports, prototypes, inventions and software developed by the Contractor in performance of the works within the specification
COMMERCIAL CONDITIONS
Accredited Representatives of the firms proposing to submit a Tender wishing to attend the pre-tender site meeting must contact the Request Manager named below at least 24 hours prior to the meeting. A maximum of two people per company is allowed to attend due to the Covid.
