⁠⁠⁠The following Request for Tender (RFT) is now open for a portion of that work: TR-RF0242 South Line Rail & Mudhole Removal works Closing date: Monday 10 January 2022 Tas Rail is currently seeking the services of experienced, qualified and competent Contractors with rail experience to tender for a package of South Line Rail and Mudhole Removal works on the Tasmanian Rail Network between Conara and Western Junction. Key Points of Tender: .

The scope of work comprises:

• Multiple work sites on the South Line between Conara and Westem Junction on the Tasmanian Rail Network .
• Correction of single points of failure with elevated priorities .
• Re-railing, and re-sleepering
• Removal of fouled ballast
• Distribution, layout and recovery of materials
• Traffic management where required .

• The Scope of Works document also outlines the expectations and qualifications required of participating Contractors and describes the nature of works to be undertaken.
• Contractors must have rail Safeworking resources to support their work.
• The successful Contractor(s) must, where applicable, comply with the requirements of Rail Safety National Law (Tasmania) Act 2012, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and other relevant regulations.
•  Site Inspection, if requested, will occur on 16 December 2021.
•  Tenderers are to demonstrate their support of Tasmanian industry and businesses in their submission, as required by the Tasmanian Government Buy Local Policy and comply with Tas Rail's Contractor Management System.

Works to be performed under this contract may be classed as rail safety work as prescribed by Ral Safety National Law (Tasmania) 2012 and as such employees and for contractors performing such works must be able to meet and maintain the medical criteria for a safety critical worker health.
