Emergency Works - Construction of Retaining Walls 2022 - 2024

⁠⁠⁠Upper Hutt City Council is inviting tenders for the renewal of their emergency works, Retaining Walls Contract. Works primarily comprise urgent response to road drop-outs on the Council's rural road network, but also includes some asset improvement and river protection works in areas where Council assets are at risk.

To meet the challenges of making roads safe with urgency in steep terrain, Council typically relies on driven and anchored rail walls and tenderers should have documented skills in this field. Urgent works require an interactive approach and the contractor's familiarity with the nature of works is vital. As urgent works require immediate response, tenderers should have the skills and resources currently available - tenders intending to develop those skills or acquire resources after award of the Contract will not be considered.
