Pavement Marking 2022

⁠⁠⁠Whanganui District Council invites tenders from suitably experienced contractors to maintain road markings and raised reflective pavement markers on Whanganui District roads.

The scope of work includes but is not restricted to:

• Remarking of all existing pavement markings within the Whanganui District area in the financial year of 2021/2022. In the financial year of 2022/2023 and 2023/2024, only the worn pavement markings will be remarked as directed by the engineer. Reflectorised road markings are used on all urban and rural roads.
• New work, as and when instructed by the engineer.
• The inspection and maintenance of existing RRPMs in both urban and rural areas.
• Removal of unwanted pavement markings.
• Painting of traffic islands as instructed by the engineer.
• Application of green cycle lane marking as instructed by the engineer.
• The supply of all plant, labour and materials necessary for proper completion of this work to the engineer’s satisfaction.
• Meeting and reporting.
• Under the direction of the engineer, trialling heavy wear sites with a higher-micron paint cover to assess cost effectiveness.
