EOI: Independent Members for Council’s Risk & Audit Committee

⁠⁠⁠An opportunity exists for four (4) suitably qualified persons to be appointed independent external members of Bayside Council’s Risk and Audit Committee.

Experience in accounting, finance, governance, risk and knowledge of how Local Government works is necessary. However, it is not a requirement that you live or work in the Bayside Council Local Government Area.

The Committee’s key role is to provide independent assurance, advice and support on, Council’s risk management, internal and fraud controls, good governance, external accountability as well as on business improvement/service reviews. The Committee will transition to an Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee as enacted by the NSW Government.

Applicants must be able to commit to serve on the Committee for its full term; i.e. to September 2024 and the Committee will meet at least four times a year.

A fixed remuneration amount per meeting is payable for independent external members of the Committee.
