Expressions of Interest for External Members of Audit and Risk Management Committee

⁠⁠⁠Expressions of Interest are sought from suitably qualified and experienced persons to be appointed as an external member to Council’s Audit and Risk Management Committee for a period of two years in line with the term of office of elected members on the committee.

The purpose of the committee is to support Council in its governance and oversight responsibilities in relation to financial reporting, internal control structure, risk management systems and accountability. The committee also considers the recommendations made by auditors, so that Council can be satisfied with the performance of the local government in managing its affairs.

The committee currently consists of four elected members, one of whom serves as the chairperson. At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 26 October 2021, Council resolved to seek expressions of interest for up to two (2) external members.

The external member(s) should be qualified and experienced in financial management and internal control, business management, governance or corporate risk management, and may be practicing or recently retired from their respective profession.

The external member(s) will be entitled to receive reimbursement in consideration of travel time and time spent reviewing and considering Committee business.
