Tender Description
Auckland Council invites expressions of interest from community groups and organisations interested in leasing an area of land at 2 Mary Poynton Crescent Takapuna.
The land was formerly the bowling club and greens area for the Takapuna RSA/Takapuna Services Bowling Clubs and is approximately 1850m2 in area. The land is fenced from the street and contains the artificial greens surface, a small clubroom building and floodlights to the greens area. Access to toilets is in the adjacent building occupied by Yes Disability/Shore Junction.
As some of the assets described belong to the former tenants, council does not warrant that they will be still on the site at the commencement of a new occupation.
The space can be inspected on Thursday, 28 October between 10am and 12pm noon, Covid restrictions permitting.
Groups applying must be:
- an incorporated society or a charitable trust and meet the criteria prescribed in the Auckland Council Community Occupancy Guidelines 2012;
- ideally, based and working in the Devonport – Takapuna community;
- able to identify positive community outcomes that will occur as a result of the proposed tenancy;
- ideally, able to optimise the use of the land while being compatible with the adjacent community activity at Yes Disability/Shore Junction given its close proximity to the site;
- ideally, able to share the space with other community groups.
Auckland Council reserves the right to seek proposals and applications from other parties in addition to those who respond to this invitation, and at its sole discretion to accept or reject any applications.
Any information provided to the Council will become subject to the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and may be released by the Council under that Act unless a withholding ground under that Act Applies. Any applicant should state in their application if the whole or any part of the application is to be kept confidential.
