Tender Description
The Town of Cambridge has an Audit and Risk Committee overseeing functions as prescribed by the Local Government Act 1995 and Local Government (Audit) Regulations 1996. The Audit Committee comprises five members, made up of five Elected Members and two independent community members.
The Council resolved at its meeting held on 12 October 2021 that it is the Council’s view that the Town of Cambridge Audit and Risk Committee is chaired by a suitably qualified and experienced independent committee member.
Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and/or experienced persons, for an appointment as an Independent Community Member on the Town’s Audit and Risk Committee, until October 2023.
Interested persons should possess qualifications and/or experience in financial management and internal control, business management, governance or similar. The Committee meets four times per year and the meetings are approximately 1-2 hours duration.
No meeting fee is payable, as this is not permitted by the Local Government Act 1995, however, reimbursement of reasonable expenses is made. (e.g. travel, stationary, parking).
