Tanunda Recreation Park Playscape Request for Tender(RFT)

⁠⁠⁠The Barossa Council (the Council) invites tenders from Tenderers for the provision of construction and installation of an inclusive Playground at the Tanunda Recreation Park, Bilyara Road, Tanunda (the Services). The Council will enter into a Contract for Services with the successful Tenderer.

The Barossa Council has committed to what is known as “The Big Project” (the Barossa Generational Community Infrastructure Plan), which is made up of Masterplans for each of its community recreation, sporting, and cultural facilities. The Playground at the Tanunda Recreation Park (the Project) is a priority 1 phase of the implementation of The Tanunda Recreation Park Masterplan.

Set on 7.32 acres, Tanunda Recreation Park is the primary sports, recreation and open space precinct in Tanunda and surrounding district. Characterised by green shaded spaces, it is used for competitive sport; passive recreation; major events; and community activity. The project draws on and builds the strong sense of place that exists at Tanunda Recreation Park and its contribution to the social, economic and cultural life of the community.

Key elements of the project are: 

• adventure play for age appropriate challenge and gross motor skill development (flying fox, trampolines, climbing/elevated play, slides, swings, monkey bars)
• collaborative spaces for creative play, performance with provision for sand and water play
• quiet areas for reflective, sensory, individual focused play
• youth activities including outdoor games
• a priority on inclusion with equipment providing all access participation
• green open spaces for active and passive recreation, picnics, and BBQs for family parties and occasions
• retention of natural shade and existing plant species, complemented by new tree plantings and landscaping
• safe pedestrian connections through the playground
• bicycle access surrounding and connecting the playground
• high quality amenities including shade, barbecue, drink foundation and seating
