The Wilsons Prom Revitalisation project will invest in the protection and enhancement of Wilsons Promontory National Park. This is critical for delivering superior visitor experiences while reducing the environmental impact of visitation. One of the components of this project is the first stage of the Prom Sanctuary, which aims to create Australia’s premier biodiversity sanctuary, one of the largest in the country with an area of 50,000 hectares to protect threatened species. This first stage is the construction of a 10-kilometre predator-proof fence, spanning across approximately 10km of Yanakie Isthmus near the Park entrance. This objective fence installation is to exclude predators from the area which will support the recovery and re-establishment of native animals, plants and habitats.

Parks Victoria is intending to release a Request for Tender to engage a multi-disciplinary Principal Consultant Team to undertake land studies and peformance based technical development of concepts for the fence installation. The consultant team will be required to lead and co-ordinate design, land studies, engineering, geotech and coastal investigations to faciliate the development and delivery of suitable design options for the procurement and construction of the Predator Proof Exclusion Fence in accordance the project timeline completion at the end of 2023.

Parks Victoria will be seeking proposals from suitably qualified contractors that can design and construct the building in accordance with the project specification.
