On 12 October 2021, the State Government of Western Australia announced its decision to proceed with the proposed sale of the Western Australian TAB (“WA TAB”) under a new market process (“Market Process”). The transaction (“Proposed Transaction”) involves the transfer of the ancillary assets and liabilities of the WA TAB operations to a private sector operator which is granted an exclusive licence ("Wagering Licence") to operate wagering in Western Australia (“Licensee”). The Market Process commences with the public release of this notification (“Notification”) for Expressions of Interest (“EOIs”). This Notification seeks to provide interested parties with information about the process to access the Invitation for EOI (“Invitation”) document and to participate in the Market Process, which includes the potential opportunity to be invited to apply for the grant of a wagering licence under section 10(1) of the Betting Control Act 1954 (WA) at the relevant time.
