Tender Description
Shellharbour City Council is also seeking EOIs from Aboriginal artists.
The project will consist of a sculptural or installation-based piece or series of works that connect a wide theme or story.
The work will be installed at Reddall Reserve and will reflect the Aboriginal heritage significance of the area and will be visible from the road, path and surrounding facilities.
The art trail was established along the Lake Illawarra foreshore in 2014 and currently consists of eight artworks.
Preference will be given to First Nations artists who are connected through country or lived experience.
Applications close Sunday 17 October 2021.
Shellharbour City Mayor Councillor Marianne Saliba said the projects were a great opportunity for local artists to showcase their work and would enhance the physical environment of the area.
“Shellharbour City Council is committed to acknowledging, respecting and celebrating the local Aboriginal community. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the talent and culture of our Aboriginal people”, Cr Saliba said.
