The Lismore City Council formed on 1 April 1977 and is a progressive and innovative organisation located in the heart of the beautiful Northern Rivers Region of New South Wales. Employing approximately 400 staff, Council provides services to over 46,000 residents and manages a budget of approximately $100 million per annum. Lismore is the commercial and cultural hub of the region. It provides many of the region's major services and its shopping and sporting facilities, hospitals and schools serve residents of much of the surrounding area.
Lismore City Council resolved in October 2020 to develop an EOI and to go to the market to assess if there are any legitimate parties within the community that would be willing to enter into a lease or license with Council and provide a recreational facility to members of the public on the land on which the Lismore Lake Pool is located.
The 1.01 hectare site is located adjacent to the Lismore Lake Holiday Park, approximately 3km south of the Lismore CBD. The site contains:
- a 2,500m2 swimming pool that is currently not operational;
- informal car parking facilities;
- small shade structures;
- an amenities block.
