MRF Early Fire Detection and Suppression System - Design and Construction

⁠⁠⁠Cairns Regional Council is inviting submissions from suitably qualified and experienced Contractors to Design and Construct an early fire detection and suppression system for the commingled storage area. Recycling collection trucks tip recyclable material onto a commingled storage floor prior to processing. Material stockpiles have a high energy content and pose a considerable fire risk particularly when potential fire sources are incorrectly placed in recycling bins. The stockpile can smoulder for a while before developing into a large fire causing significant challenges to firefighting intervention.

Enquiries: Tender enquiries, questions or clarifications should be directed via the online forum. Cairns Regional Council officers are unable to respond to verbal enquiries in relation to the tender. The forum will close five days prior to the closing time and date. Please ensure that all questions, information requests and clarifications are posted prior to this time.

Lodgement of Submissions: Completed responses must be lodged by uploading the submission to our electronical tendering portal, using the response forms within the tender documentation.

We strongly recommend that you begin uploading your tender submission files at least two (2) hours BEFORE the tender closing time.

Closing Time and Date: The tender closes at 4.30 PM, Wednesday 20 October 2021. Submissions must be fully received by this time. Late, verbal or emailed tenders may not be accepted and will be subject to Council's sole discretion.

Submissions will not be opened publicly. The lowest or any tender may not necessarily be accepted.

Council reserve the right to change the specifications prior to making a decision on the submissions received in response to this invitation.

Council may invite all Respondents to change their submission to take into account any change in the tender specifications.

Tenders are to remain valid for a period of 120 days from the Closing Time.
