Townsville City Council is undertaking the replacement of several old water mains throughout the city. One of these mains is the DN400 Cast Iron (CI) water main along Charters Towers Rd and Ross River Rd. Another is the DN300 CI and DN225 CI water main on the eastern side of Charters Towers Rd and southern side of Ross River Rd. To facilitate the decommissioning these existing old mains (along with a number of other old AC reticulation main), new pipelines are to be constructed along the footpaths of Charters Towers Rd and Ross River Road in Hyde Park, Hermit Park and Mundingburra. The design of the above required replacement water mains has been undertaken as a number of smaller design packages over the past 4 years.
