Tender Description

Coastal adaptation strategies have been developed for the township of Southend, as well as the Kingston District Council.  Wattle Range Council has now partnered with the District Council of Robe, District Council of Grant and Kingston District Council to take a regional approach to coastal planning.  We are seeking a proposal of works to complete coastal adaptation strategies for Robe, Beachport, Port Macdonnell, the communities of Carpenter Rocks, Pelican Point, Blackfellows Caves, Nene Valley, Cape Douglas, Racecourse Bay, Eight Mile Creek and the river settlement of Donovans.

The aim of the project is to identify and evaluate potential adaptation strategies for sea level rise and erosion in the coastal settlements, with a focus on public land and infrastructure.  The reports will clearly define the benefits, risks and estimated costs associated with realistic and achievable adaptations, so that these options can be presented to the community for informed consideration.  The reports will outline specific actions and will be the foundation for future funding applications to implement these actions.  The methodology must be based on the Local Government Association’s Coastal Adaptation Decision Support Pathways Framework. The project will include engagement with elected members, the community and stakeholders during the development stages, as well as presentation of the final Strategy to elected members.

Separate reports will be required for each Council as outlined in the deliverables.
