Tender Description
The Principal (Buller District Council) is looking for a suitably qualified Contractor to provide Design and Construct services for a new Water Treatment Plant (WTP). The Principal would also like the following optional items priced as part of this RFT, water storage, and rising and falling main components to connect back into the existing Waimangaroa Water Supply reticulation network.
There are 140 properties connected to the supply network and the number of people living permanently in the Waimangaroa Township is approximately 250 to 350 people.
The treatment plant will be designed and constructed to receive raw water from the Conns Creek intake that will be conveyed via the existing raw water network.
The detailed scope of the works for this contract is as identified in the Principal's requirements as per Sections 9 and 10 of the RFT.
The works associated with the water treatment components of the scheme consist of:
- A WTP to achieve 4 log credit and compliant to NZDWS, and built on Council land adjacent to the car park for the Denniston walkway on a paper road up to the water tanks (see Figure 1).
Separable Portion A works to be priced as part of this RFT are:
- A rising main from WTP to feed new water storage tanks
- Water Tanks with a total minimum capacity of 300 m3, either two or alternatively multiple Klip tanks, or equivalent tanks with a total equivalent storage capacity
- A falling main to connect into the existing Waimangaroa reticulation NB 200.
- A drain line, stormwater grade to run downhill connecting to closest discharge option.
- A valving chamber to allow splitting/connecting the water tanks.
