Tender Description
The City of Cockburn (The Principal) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to undertake the extraction, transportation and deposition of approximately 30,000 m3 (bank volume) of sand from the sand trap north of Port Coogee to various nourishment sites to the north and south.
The scope includes:
• Bypassing approximately 15,000 m3 of material south to Coogee Beach, to be pumped as a hydraulic slurry via a permanent bypassing pipe, to which temporary pipelines will need to be added at either end and submerged across the Port Coogee entrance channel.
• Back-passing of up to 15,000 m3 of material north on to C Y O’Connor Beach via a means determined by the Contractor, which may involve trucking, hydraulic transport or a combination thereof.
The following provisional works are Separable Portion components of the scope, only to be undertaken if directed by the Principal:
Back-passing to north Side of Catherine Point, via one or both of:
- Back-passing of sand from the sand trap beach to the northern side of Catherine Point (Labelled C Y O’Connor Nourishment (North)) in a manner as proposed by the Contractor.
- Back-passing of sand from the northern most end of C Y O’Connor Beach (labelled ‘Northern Excavation Site’) to the north side of Catherine Point (labelled ‘C Y O’Connor Nourishment (North)).
- ·Construction of temporary revetment, including:
- Supply and installation of filled Geotextile Sand Containers to provide interim erosion protection as shown on the Drawings, which will be buried by subsequent placement of back-passing material, and
- Undertaking and supplying an As-Constructed survey of the revetment(s) prior to burying.
The Works Under Contract are to be completed by 6 May 2022 and no site work shall occur between 1 December 2021 and 28 February 2022.
