Tender Description

Mid Western Regional Council, Warrumbungle Shire Council, Lithgow City Council and Walgett Shire Council (Council) invites Tender Submissions for the Fixing Country Bridges West “Group A” 6 Bridges Project. The listed 4 NSW councils have aligned themselves together to procure, as a group, replacements for 6 rural timber bridges.

The Councils (the Principal) are seeking submissions from appropriately qualified and experienced respondents for the provision of all the design and construction of 6 bridges, in accordance with the requirements identified in the Specification. Council may enter into a contract with one or more contractors for the project.

For each of the bridges the scope of the project is at a high level, as the full design of the bridge is part of the scope of work, but includes:

• Full bridge design – including all papers to progress to construction
• Approvals (e.g, EPA)
• Demolition and disposal of existing bridge
• Site preparation (including alternative traffic flow arrangements)
• General arrangements (including traffic management)
• Project management
• Full construction and asset commissioning
• Make-good work

The tender documents are available for download only by tender portal. The tender documents for all councils will be available via Walgett Shire Council’s portal.

The contact person for this request for tender is Cindy Garrahy via the online forum, which closes 5 days prior to closing of the tender. A non-mandatory (but highly recommend) tender briefing session will be conducted on-line via Zoom (A zoom link is provided within the tender documents).

The purpose of the briefing session is to advise all potential Tenderers of the background to the project and the tender process to ensure everyone has a good understanding of the requirements to submit a conforming tender.

Due to the ongoing travel restrictions caused by COVID 19 and associated logistical and health risks NO on-site meeting will be conducted in person however it is recommended that Tenderers make their own investigations. In an effort to provide as much detail as possible, a video of each site may be provided as well as a detailed discussion about each bridge with the project engineers.

A council representative will be available at that time to take questions any queries regarding the tender. All responses will be collated and published on Tender portal as an addendum.

Tenders may be submitted by the closing date and time, Friday, 8th October 2021 at 2pm AEST to the online tender box in Tender portal.
