Provision of Waste Management and Innovation Services

⁠⁠⁠The University is seeking offers from suppliers that can provide waste management services across most of UQ’s campuses and sites. It is UQ’s intention to award the contract to one (1) lead supplier who may engage a number of subcontractors. Please note suppliers cannot offer on individual waste types (for example, a supplier cannot offer solely to provide hygiene waste collection services, it must offer services for all of the waste types listed within section 1.5.3).

The supplier will be responsible for commercial waste collection, disposal and recycling for all waste types generated by UQ. The supplier will also need to demonstrate the required experience, skills and resources required to sustain a waste management solution across the identified sites (over 350 collection points), including strong management over sub-contracting arrangements. UQ is looking for a supplier who can complete waste audits, have the expertise and capability to respond to hazardous emergencies, provide comprehensive reporting, and assist in waste education programs. UQ is seeking a supplier who can collaboratively work with UQ to evolve over time as technology advances, disposal methods enhance and legislation changes, providing and delivering innovative solutions to UQ’s complex waste program.

• Tuesday 21 September 2021, 9.00am (AEST): Mandatory Briefing Session with Site Visits to St Lucia, Long Pocket and Pinjarra Hills. Please register names of attendees (maximum 3 per supplier) with procurement@uq.edu.au as soon as possible.
• Wednesday 22 September 2021: Mandatory Site Visist to Gatton Campus. Please register names of attendees (maximum 3 per supplier) with procurement@uq.edu.au as soon as possible.
• Friday 8 October 2021, 2.00pm (AEST): Closing date and time for clarifications
• Monday 18 October 2021, 10.00am (AEST): Offer closing date and time
