Tender Description
Expressions of Interest are sought from suitably qualified individuals to be appointed as an external member to Council’s Audit and Risk Management Committee for a period of two years.
The objective of the Audit and Risk Management Committee is to:
• Guide and assist the local government in carrying out its functions relating to audits and financial management.
• Review audit reports given to it by the CEO.
• Monitor and advise the CEO in carrying out functions related to legislated reviews.
• Support the auditor of the local government to conduct audits.
• Oversee the implementation of any actions required in relation to audits and reviews.
• Perform any other function required of a local government audit committee.
The external member is required to demonstrate a high level of expertise and knowledge in at least one of the following:
• Financial management and reporting
• Governance
• Auditing
• Risk management and relevant skills and experience in providing independent expert advice.
External committee members are entitled to receive reimbursement of reasonable expenses.
