Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $15.1 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $120 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: New varieties for Australian banana growers (BA21002).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
• Identify, access, and evaluate new banana varieties from international breeding programs with superior agronomic performance, resistance to priority diseases, and enhanced product quality under Australian growing environments.
• Support the maintenance of a collection of diverse banana varieties for the Australian banana industry.
• Foster strong international partnerships, including creating new opportunities for the development of new cavendish varieties for Australian growers.
• Develop data packages to communicate the performance of new banana varieties to Australian growers.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
