NSW Government invites Infrastructure Advisory Services suppliers to participate in an upcoming Industry Forum, to announce significant changes to procurement within this category, intended to support better outcomes for suppliers and the NSW Government alike.
“Infrastructure Advisory (IA) Services” refers to Engineering, Technical, Design & Advisory Services provided under a fee for service arrangement in relation to any stage in the infrastructure asset lifecycle from concept through to commissioning (and where applicable the ongoing operations and maintenance of the asset) of all new economic and social infrastructure assets (for the NSW Government). Attachment "IA Taxonomy" lists the services which currently define the Infrastructure Advisory category.
The Government aims to be a “best in class” client for the construction industry while achieving value for money outcomes for the citizens of NSW. The Government’s “10 Point Commitment to the Construction Sector” reflects this agenda and its implementation continues as a major priority.
Infrastructure Advisory services is a major spend area for the Government, with direct annual outlays of approx. $1.2 billion within a total annual construction budget of over $13 billion in FY 19/20. Understanding the market for Infrastructure Advisory services is critical to achieving both great infrastructure outcomes and maximising the beneficial economic impact of the employment these services create across the State. For this reason, the NSW Government is embarking on implementing a strategy, to deliver structured improvements in targeted opportunity areas.
