Whyalla City Council is looking for a business or tourism operator to partner with and manage the Point Lowly Cottages offering a unique tourism accommodation precinct to the world.

The opportunity is for a joint initiative between Council and the third party to offer accommodation at the Point Lowly Lighthouse Cottages. This is a heritage listed site, which is being modernised as part of the current Northern Coastline “Cuttlefish Coast Sanctuary Tourism and Conservation” Project.

The Point Lowly Lighthouse Cottages are in a prime location and offer year-round accommodation, capitalising on a significant tourism opportunity with the Cuttlefish aggregation during the winter months each year.

The Point Lowly Lighthouse Cottages are scheduled for reconstruction and refurbishment in the 2022-23 Financial Year as part of the $4 million Northern Coastline “Cuttlefish Coast and Sanctuary Tourism and Conservation” Project.

The successful party will work with the project team to design and provide an opportunity that they believe can be modelled to accommodate current tourism travel trends.

Commencement of services is to be negotiated between parties at the completion of renovation construction.
