The Supply of Number Plates for Motor Vehicles In South Australia

⁠⁠⁠The requirements for this procurement include:

• Manufacture and supply the required volume of all classes of number plates to the required specification that ensure regulatory responsibilities are met;
• Provide a secure and reliable computerised inventory, warehousing and distribution system that interfaces with the Departments registration and licensing system (TRUMPS);
• Enable plates to be ordered and delivered direct to the customer and /or specific locations within specified timeframes
• Provide South Australian Government Financing Authority (SAFA) (formerly Fleet SA) real-time access for the allocation of plate numbers to government vehicles and then manage the changes that occur before the number plates are attached to the vehicle;
• Enable the supply of number plates and forms direct to authorised Dealer Delegates;
• Enable the Motor Trade Industry, in particular crash repairers, to purchase a select range of replacement number plates directly from the manufacturer (online ordering);
• Have the capacity to assist the Department with artwork services including design, development and manufacture of a new number plate range; and assist the Department with the identification, design, development and manufacture of new plates for release in the future, as required;
• Every twelve (12) months the contractor must organise for independent testing (approved by the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport) on a range of number plate classes specified by the Minister (at no cost to the Minister) to assess they meet the required specifications; and
• Have in place Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans to ensure supply in the event of catastrophic manufacturing failure, strikes, lock-out, non-supply of materials or any other reason.
