Waimangaroa Water Supply - Conns Creek - Stage 2 Water Treatment Storage, Rising & Falling Main

⁠⁠⁠Tenders are invited for :
The Principal (Buller District Council) is looking for a suitably qualified Contractor to provide Design and Construct services for a new Water Treatment Plant (WTP), water storage, and rising and falling main components to connect back into the existing Waimangaroa Water Supply reticulation network.

The scheme is a small supply, currently with 140 connections and approx. 250 to 350 residents.

The treatment plant will be designed and constructed to receive raw water from the Conns Creek intake (and a secondary " unnamed creek intake ) that will be conveyed via the existing raw water network.

The works associated with the water components of the scheme consist of:

• A Water Treatment Plant to supply 400m3/day, which can achieve 4 log protozoa credit with chlorine disinfection and compliant to Drinking Water Standards NZ (DWSNZ)
• Site clearance and civil works for the WTP at a greenfield site on Council land adjacent to the car park for the Denniston walkway on a paper road
• A rising main from the new WTP to feed new water storage tanks
• An access track to the new reservoir site 2 No.
• New Water Tanks total capacity of 300 m3 (each 150 m3) or multiple tanks with an equivalent storage capacity & valving chamber to allow splitting/connecting the water tanks, including site clearance and civil works
• A falling main to connect into the existing Waimangaroa reticulation
• Connection of the WTP to the existing telemetry network
• Management of stormwater, divert to waste, scour, overflow and wastewater generated from treatment plant and from the reservoirs. Note that the site for the WTP has no access to any reticulated wastewater or stormwater network.

It is expected that the Tenderer will propose a water treatability sampling programme. As only limited water quality data is currently available
