The Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) has developed a three-year IT Strategy and Future State infrastructure design to ensure IT services can be realised to support core business outcomes. The IT Strategy is designed to be an integrated approach to building the infrastructure and applications capability needed to provide ANAO with modern, flexible, scalable, and secure technology as building blocks for the future.
Recent projects to establish an M365 environment and a basic PROTECTED level Data Analytics environment in Azure have provided the most basic scaffolding of licencing, access controls, security architecture and connectivity to secure public cloud infrastructure using Microsoft cloud computing. The ANAO future state architecture identifies several development opportunities which would provide improved capability for data analytics including self-service analytics, a data exchange portal to enable more secure data transfer, data asset management software to improve data governance and more cost-effective hosting for core ANAO business applications.
The ANAO is seeking support to develop a detailed design and whole of life costings to implement the future state initiatives to inform our Executive Board of Management and IT forward investment plan.
