Tender Description

Background Information

The proposed works are located on 94A Bulloo Developmental Road (Cunnamulla Rd) of the Bulloo Shire and are approximately 70km from Thargomindah. The Bulloo Developmental Road is 197 km long, sealed and has a traffic count of 46 vehicles per day. It is a state-controlled road.

The widening project includes 5.3km pavement widening and 3 small culvert upgrades.

The sealing services include the initial sealing over the widened pavement 2.1m per side or 4.2m, the new culverts and the final sealing over full width (about 5.3km long * 8m wide). The lead time between the initial seal and the final seal is 2 to 3 weeks.

Sidetrack construction (where feasible) and TGS will be implemented by BSC prior to sealing works. Contractor is responsible for traffic management and maintaining traffic control devices during its construction period.

3 Type of Contract

This Request for tender will be a SCHEDULE OF RATES Contract. All fees and charges necessary for the successful completion of the works shall be deemed to be included in the prices and rates as detailed in Part 3. Prices and rates are to be inclusive of GST.

Scope of Works

The Principals require a Contractor to supply bitumen seal and reseal services on 94A Bulloo Developmental Road chainage from 127.865 to 133.175, about 70km from

Thargomindah in accordance with the Specification.

All fees and charges necessary for the successful completion of the works shall be deemed to be included in the prices and rates submitted. This includes all costs associated with the administrative management and full site supervision necessary for the successful Contractor to fulfil all of its obligations including but not limited to those referenced as well as any and all other matters incidental to undertaking bitumen sealing of the Principals’ road pavement.

A brief summary scope of works is shown below:

• Provision for traffic

• Seal design - Traffic date is attached

• Brooming of pavement surface for seal

• Brooming of bitumen surface for reseals

• Supply, cart, incorporate, heat & spray bituminous material

• Supply & delivery of precoated cover aggregate

• Load, spread & roll cover aggregate

• Post-spread sweeping & removal of loose aggregate

• Post works signage

• Construction/management of stockpile sites

•All testing to TMR’s requirement

• Site establishment and de-establishment - as culverts will be replaced by a “half-half ” construction method where sidetracks are not feasible, it will require 2 to 3 visits/establishments to fully complete the project.

No work is to proceed past these Hold Points without written and signed approval of Council.
