Tender Description
The Tender is to construct a purpose designed long day care education facility on the site of the existing Tocumwal Pre-School Centre in order to provide a modern facility that will allow for the care and educative development for up to 70 pre-school aged children.
This project will deliver:
· Increased capacity to satisfy demand for full day care and education services for children residing in the Tocumwal region, and
· A refurbished modern facility reducing the requirement for costly and significant repair and maintenance to the existing building.
It is proposed that the existing Tocumwal Long Day Care building located at 28-30 Jerilderie Street, Tocumwal will be demolished. It shall be replaced with a new fit-for-purpose all accessible Childcare Centre comprising four large classrooms, large dining common space, the required amenities (including disabled), store rooms, staffroom, office, cot room, kitchen and laundry facilities.
The Childcare Centre will provide long term day care and early education services. It is envisaged that the Childcare Centre will be redeveloped to meet the follow:
· Operate from a modern fit-for-purpose building that is functional and attractive;
· Accommodate and provide education and care for a minimum of 64 and a maximum of 70 children, aged 6 months to start of school age;
· Operate 5 days a week year-round; and
· Offer a child care and early learning facility.
The project must be practically completed by 13th May 2022.
The project is to be delivered as a part of the Murray-Darling Basin Economic Development Program Round 3 in conjunction with the Tocumwal Pre-School Committee and the Berrigan Shire Council.
